Why Do Animals Need Chloroplasts
After photosynthesis which chloroplasts are needed for which yields oxygen and glucose plants need to break down the glucose and they use cell respiration to.
Why do animals need chloroplasts. Animal cells each have a centrosome and lysosomes whereas plant cells do not. Both plant and animal cells are eukaryotic so they contain membrane-bound organelles like the nucleus and mitochondria. For example plant cells contain chloroplasts since they need to perform photosynthesis but animal cells do not.
Plants need them in order to inhance the nutrients taken in by the C02 in the air. Sun light will be required for photosynthesis and it may lead to sunburn and skin cancers. Plants have chloroplasts while animals dont and plants have cellulose cell walls while animals dont have anything more than cell membranes around their cellsPlants though make the molecules they submit to the respiration process while animals have toProbably the main reason why animals and plants must be eukaryotic is their energy metabolism.
While we do see some examples of animals that have chloroplasts and mitochondria in some of their cells such as in some sea slugs scientists wanted to see if they could make an animal that could photosynthesize. They directly or indirectly depend on plant for food. Chloroplasts work to convert light energy of the Sun into sugars that can be used by cells.
Chloroplasts are like mitochondria in animals. Though the plants can process sunlight and raw materials on their own through the chloroplasts without the mitochondria the plant wont have enough energy to do the same at night. Animal cells dont have a dividing cell wall like plant cells do but both do have plasma membranes.
Chloroplasts have chlorophyll pigments which serve to trap the sunlight for the process of photosynthesis. Why do animal cells not need the same structures vacuoles cell walls and chloroplas that plant cells need. Chloroplasts are present in photosynthetic plants and is responsible for making the food of the plantOn the other hand mitochondria also known as the power house of the cell uses this oxygen in order to create ATP which is used for various purposes like active transport releasing minerals and many more in plants.
Animals do not needto. It would be better if we were able to use sunlight as a source of energy for metabolism. The organelles are only found in plant cells and some protists such as algae.
